I took some pictures of my new Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires next to my Kanati Trail Hogs. The STT's are 37x13.5r17 and the Trail Hogs are 37x12.5r17 so the STT's should be a bit wider. The Trail Hogs have about 30,000 miles on them when the pictures was taken.
Specifications:
Tire | Size | Weight | Outside Diameter | Tread Depth |
Cooper Discoverer STT Pro | 37x13.5R17LT | 84 lbs | 36.77" | 22/32" |
Kanati Trail Hog A/T | 37x12.5R17LT | 72.3 lbs | 36.7" | 18/32" |
Specs per http://www.kanatitires.com/products/truck-tires/trail-hog/ and http://us.coopertire.com/tires/discoverer-stt-pro.aspx
Both of these tires can be had for under $300 so they are very affordable for a 37" tire.

The STT's are 13.5 width and the Trail Hogs are 12.5 so the STT's should be a bit wider.
The Cooper STT Pro tires are more aggressive than the all-terrain Kanati Trail Hog, as you would expect. This is most notable in the spacing between the middle tread lugs. I think the Kanati Mud Hog would have a more comparable tread.
Above you can see the difference between the 13.5 width Cooper and the 12.5 width Kanati.
The side biters on the Cooper STT Pro's are very thick, almost rediculously so. The air'd down traction should be excellent.
The best part is the Cooper STT Pro is made in the USA!
